Your Health, My Commitment

Dedicated to empowering your wellness journey through personalized care and supportive guidance

About Me

Hi, I'm Evan Volk

I was born and raised in the small community of Denzil, Saskatchewan, Canada. From a young age, I was deeply involved in sports, competing throughout my childhood and into my late teens. I continue to make a strong effort to be community driven, I volunteer my time to coach volleyball and basketball. Also, I umpire softball and baseball in many of the surrounding communities.  This lifelong passion for competition sparked a fascination with the world of athletics—especially the various ways athletes train, recover, and fuel their bodies to gain an edge over the competition.

Driven by a strong desire to help others, I founded EV Fitness and Nutrition. My mission is to support individuals of all backgrounds through personalized fitness and nutrition coaching, helping them feel their best and lead long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. I strive to create a welcoming, understanding, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel supported every step of the way.

Health and wellness can often feel overwhelming or intimidating. That’s why I’m here—to provide honest, compassionate guidance and empower people to unlock their potential, even when they might not see it in themselves.

My Health and Wellness Journey

A Second Chance at Life: How Food Became My Most Powerful Medicine

I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, an incurable genetic condition that affects the lungs and digestive system. CF causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the airways and lungs, leading to frequent lung infections, chronic coughing, difficulty digesting and absorbing food, and often significant damage to affected organs.

As a child and into my teenage years, I learned to manage life with CF fairly well. Things were mostly under control, with the occasional down moment here and there.

However, in my early 20s, everything changed. I began experiencing repeated, severe lung infections, forcing me to take antibiotics every eight hours for two weeks at a time, month after month, for over three years. The treatments offered only minimal relief, and within days of stopping antibiotics, I would crash again. My energy was gone, I became breathless after just a few steps, my lung function plummeted, and my body was constantly inflamed. I hit an all-time low—losing hope and unsure if I would ever feel better.

I was willing to try anything to regain my health. That’s when I discovered the power of nutrition. With guidance, I embraced a complete lifestyle change, focusing primarily on what I was putting into my body. I realized that much of what I had been eating was unknowingly contributing to inflammation and other negative effects on my health.

After just two weeks of eating clean, nutrient-rich foods, I noticed remarkable changes:

  • I could walk without being out of breath

  • My inflammation markers dropped significantly

  • Most importantly, I went nearly eight months without needing antibiotics, after years of constant medication

Nutrition had given me a breakthrough. Over the last three years, I’ve continued to improve steadily: lung infections are now rare, I have the energy to exercise and stay active, and I’ve been able to gain weight and build muscle.

I truly feel like I’ve been given a second chance at life. Through EV Fitness and Nutrition, I want to share the knowledge, strategies, and hope that I’ve gained, helping others restore their health and achieve the wellness that everyone deserves.
